Founder Story

Hi! My name is Joseph Luczaj, I’m the founder of Wildfire Ranch, home for boys and girls.
This project started as a personal journey.

See, I was abandoned when I was three, I was kidnapped and locked in a room for a year. By the time I was 8 I was a ward of the state. I went to over 46 foster homes and children’s homes. But there was one specifically that stood out. Goodwill Hinckley farm school for boys and girls. It was there where I learned values, trust, and It shaped me into the man I am today.

By the time I was 20, I hit a low point in my life. It was then that I made a commitment to help others as I was helped as a child. I spent more time at goodwill Hinckley, and it gave me a front seat to watch it be closed due to loss of funding. That was the spark I needed to make a pact with myself to create a new way to provide sustainable funding for my own children’s home, the Wildfire Ranch, a home they can’t take away from me.
